DOT Stand-Alone Pool
With a stand-alone testing pool, the employees of one company make up the random drug testing pool. Typically, companies with a larger number of employees find that a stand-alone testing pool is sufficient to help them meet DOT regulations for drug testing. This is because larger companies have a number of employees that is sufficient to give a true random testing pool.
DOT Consortium National Pool
A consortium national pool groups several different companies together to collectively pool their employees for random drug testing. While any company with two or more employees that are required to comply with DOT regulations can use a stand-alone pool, small companies of eight or fewer employees can benefit from utilization of a national pool. Companies with only one such employee are required to take part in a consortium national pool in order to achieve a random drug testing pool.
We have experience working with both types of drug testing pools and will be happy to assist you.
